Junior Rowers (13-18 years)
The future of the sport...
We host one of the largest Junior sections in the area and pride ourselves on the opportunities provided. All juniors learn to scull in small boats. Once proficient, there is the opportunity to progress to larger boats and eventually sweep oar.
Our Junior squad have regular water sessions at the weekends in the mornings as well as land based training in the evenings during the week.
Land based training is a vital part of building and maintaining an athlete's technique and stamina. Programs are designed to complement and emulate the rowing movement.
Amongst other training, the Juniors currently participate in circuits on a Tuesday evening at Twynham School.

We work with the academic year and recruit new athletes towards the end of the summer to begin training in September ready for the next season. Occasionally spots become available through the year so we keep a record of all applications to ensure everyone gets the opportunity to try out when an appropriate space becomes available.
Due to the nature of the sport we are limited in the number of spaces we can offer. Number of boats and water sessions available dictate our maximum capacity.
