The Head of the Stour is a processional time-trial style race from the Mudeford Sandspit to Christchurch Sailing Club; a distance of approximately 2 miles.

Christchurch Regatta is held each year in the summer with one-on-one racing throughout the day, culminating in a series of finals at the end of the afternoon.
